MFA Open Studios 2011

Studio Arts MFA students will open their studio doors on February 11 and 12, 2011 to allow Montrealers to get an inside look at the contemporary art being created in the heart of the city.

The MFA Open Studios 2011 two-day event offers a chance to view works-in-progress, performances, and on-campus exhibitions. There will also be film and video screenings, a vernissage and an auction where artworks can be acquired.

Event description:

The MFA Open Studios 2011 event offers the city an opportunity to engage with one of Canada's foremost environments for the study and creation of visual art. Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts has maintained an MFA in Studio Arts of international stature - the first in Canada - for more than 30 years.
 
The Department of Studio Arts has a long-standing international reputation for excellence and innovation in contemporary art.  The program currently has 120 MFA students in Film Production, Fibres, Painting & Drawing, Sculpture and Ceramics, Open Media, Print Media and Photography.
