The 2012-13 Music faculty research series will feature scholarly presentations from professors in the Department of Music.

Istvan Anhalt: Some comments and reflections
A lecture by professor Kevin Austin

Almost a year ago, in February 2012, Istvan Anhalt, one of Canada's most highly respected composers and educators, died at the age of 92. Music Professor Kevin Austin will reflect on Anhalt's legacy and discuss how this founding father of Canadian electroacoustic music influenced his own life and choices.

Istvan for four MIDI-strated orchestras in 5.1
, a memorial work composed by Austin, will be presented in public for the first, and possibly the last, time. A brief analysis will also be given.
